About the Company:

Created in 2016 by Artistic Directors, Svetlana Kravtsova and Vadim Pijicov, The Classical Ballet Theatre of Maryland is 501(c)3 non-profit, professional ballet company designed to fill the void of quality, professional ballet in Howard County, MD. Ms. Kravtsova and Mr. Pijicov both serve as instructors at L'Etoile- The Russian Ballet Academy of Maryland, the school affiliated with The Classical Ballet Theatre of Maryland's ballet company. Having both danced with various ballet companies throughout the world, they bring highly sought-after expertise to an area in need of its own professional ballet company. Together, they have produced excellent ballet performances, such as Giselle, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker and many more. Our professionals are eager to begin rehearsing for the ballet season, but cannot do so without your support.

Our Mission:

  • A primary goal of the company is to provide education to the community about classical ballet.  The Ballet will perform major classical ballet shows as a manner of outreach.  Preparation for the shows will require extensive training and education in classical ballet.
  • Another major goal of the company is to help make ballet education more affordable for students, both through individual and group fundraising efforts.
  • A pre-professional dance environment is provided to all members of the ballet company.  To create such an environment, students are encouraged to work hard and improve their dance talents to the best of their abilities.  As a way of recognizing and rewarding work ethic and talent, scholarship opportunities will be provided to students and awarded on a competitive basis.
